If you’re a fan of gourmet-style food and delivery, then you’re in for a treat. We branded it a high-end, luxury version of UberEATS, but EatFirst is much more than that.

Head Chef Benn Hodges and his team have created the ultimate dining experience concept: Michelin-star quality food that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your couch. From Asian-fusion style dishes, to cold-pressed juices, there is something for everyone. The dishes, as we discovered, will leave you pleasantly overwhelmed.

We sampled the following:

Purple Sprouting Broccoli with Moromi. The chargrilled broccoli is lightly seasoned with Moromi miso, giving it a salty-smoky taste. Crunchy and healthy, it will definitely become a work-place staple.

Baby chicken, with a spicy aubergine side. The tender chicken was marinated in a salty, with-a-hint-of-sweet base and lightly chargrilled, creating a sumptuous yet healthy dish. The piece de resistance, however, was the aubergine ‘salad’. The aubergines, with a garlic coating and cooked to the point of almost mushy tenderness, were simply divine. In a word, moreish. My companion, not usually an aubergine fan, finished this by himself. We hope that EatFirst will soon offer this as a side on its own!

Seared salmon, with quinoa rice, baby corn and pak choi. Out of all the dishes we tried, this one epitomised ‘Michelin-star quality’ above all. In fact, my colleague who had been to Harry’s Bar the night before, mentioned a similar experience, admitting, however, that this one was superior. The Loch Duart fillets, marinated in a soy sauce, are slightly seared to absolute perfection: the unassuming cooked fillets reveal an almost-sashimi type interior of the fillet – an outstanding execution of the dish! Served wih a rice and quinoa bed with baby corn on top, I’m not sure you can get much healthier (or tastier) than this.

Our finale was two cold-pressed the juices. The Time To Refine was a punchy beetroot, apple and ginger concoction and, as a post-work indulgence, made one feel like they had been restored to life! We also sampled the Revitalise Juice, a blend of carrot, apple and ginger. Equally healthy, it’s a bottle of tastiness that will make you feel virtuos in the extreme.

We can’t recommed EatFirst highly enough. Forget the fast-food delivery, this is the real McCoy and will leave you feeling healthy and utterly satisfied.
