The Exe Santafe Hotel is a boutique hotel in the middle of Bogota’s financial district in the North of the City. It makes no bones about being a business traveller-friendly hotel and caters to this market without a fault.
The lobby area is tastefully decorated with wooden-pannels and quirky art pieces throughout.
Rooms are quite large and the beds are super comfortable. Beyond this, there isn’t much to furnish the hotel but in a way it epitomises the hotel. The hotel provides clean, comfortable beds without frills and that is why people go there. (For a five star hotel, it is relatively inexpensive). The showers are beyond decent and there are quality products in the bathroom – a nice touch.
The piece de resistance, however, is the breakfast. Not a typical ‘raves about breakfast’ kind of person, my companion positively waxed lyrical about the breakfast here, almost uttering a vow to return to Bogota because of this breakfast alone!
From abundant, enticing fruit platters, to mountains of sweet goodies, every single person is spoilt for choice. We particularly enjoyed the ‘Cuban Oats’, a sweet concoction of oats, and we also indulged in the myriad fruits on offer. As we exited the breakfast buffet, more fatter than thinner and feeling over-satisfied, we were called by the head waiter who asked us about our experience. Our positive feedback sent his facial muscles to work and produced the biggest of smiles, accompanied with a ‘that’s what we like to hear’! – you can tell the breakfast is their pride and joy, and rightfully so.
10/10 for quality in all respects and a fantastic base for your stay in Bogota.
