Location, location, location.

You’ve heard it before and you’ll hear it again.

For the ultimate location in Milan, Speronari Suites is your answer.

A due pocchi da Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II, Speronari Suites has the best of both worlds: an enviable position in Milan and the luxury of unrivalled comfort. And, as any dedicated traveller would know, these are two quintessential aspects of travelling that make all the difference.

The suites are modern in design and offer both functional and high-tech living. With myriad charging docks, easy-to-use lighting and air conditioning, sleek bathroom facilities (including Ortigia products and a bidet) and ample wardrobe space, Speronari Suites ticks all of the boxes for guests, whether you are travelling for business or pleasure. We appreciated the small gestures such as the two choices of pillows (one soft, one plump); the large Culti Milano diffuser and bedside water that is replenished daily.

On the basement floor you will find a small, yet comprehensive gym – including a sauna.

A must-try when staying at Speronari Suites is the El Porteno restaurant. In lieu of a lobby, Speronari Suites opted to open a restaurant downstairs and, having seen the restaurant fully booked for the four nights we visited, it is evident this was the correct choice. Visually, El Porteno is something taken out of a romantic film; the restaurant, with its deep-blue umbrellas spills out onto the pavement, showcasing its chic and elegant clients. The interiors are equally striking: with red velvet sofas and low-lit lighting. It is, however, the food that steals the show.

The Argentinian restaurant boasts many classics such as the quintessential empanadas (carne, pollo, verdura, jamon y queso), myriad lomo, and various grilled meats. Aside from this, there are a few other interesting options such as sashimi gazpacho, sashimi pato, and beef quaglia. And, of course, the restaurant has a wine list to match.

All of the dishes (or at least the ones we tried) were incredibly sumptuous and moreish. But, if you don’t take our word for it, all you need to do is walk down the street or call in to make a reservation. The restaurant is usually fully-booked, which speaks volumes as to the quality of food and experience.

Speronari, in a nutshell, is the perfect pied-a-terre for a weekend or even for a month.
