Pula, the largest city in Istria County, is host to some of the most spectacular ancient Roman buildings and exciting nightlife. It boasts a long history of wine making, fishing and shipbuilding. The Pula Arena is one of the best preserved Roman Amphitheaters in the world and is currently used for concerts. In short, if you’re thinking of going to Croatia then Pula should be top of the list.
We stayed at the charming Studios Castropola in the center of town. Our host was a charming Italian lady who, upon arrival presents guests with a pouch of lavender from the garden of the property.
We loved the compact nature of the studio apartment. With two sofas-cum-beds, plentiful storage space, a large modern kitchen and a bathroom to match, the studios leave nothing wanting. This is definitely a place we’d recommend staying in both for ease of access and the comfort factor.
