If you are entertaining, or being entertained, in great style then Hashi Restaurant at the swanky Armani Hotel in Dubai is definitely one of the top choices.

Choosing an al fresco scenario on a balmy Arab evening, our large table at Hashi had the most spectacular views of the fountains behind us, shooting up into the sky amid various international melodies. A feast for the eyes – just as the food was.

A veritable feast was presented before us: the expected Edamame, Hamachi usuzukuri (yellow tail carpaccio), Gyoza (Shinjuku style, grilled Japanese dumplings), Maguro to sa-mon tar-tar (Tuna and salmon tartar) and Gindara soy (teriyaki black cod, lotus root, kumquat and hajikami) all presented themselves as starters with an array of colours and flavours invading our sense. Of course, with any Japanese restaurant, the quality and freshness of the fish is of paramount importane, and the Armani Hotel ensures that Hashi meets the highest of expectations.

Next up were the ‘Chef’s special combination platter’ consisting of wagyu beef, angus beef, scallops and giant prawns, Karaia maguro to ebi (spciy tuna and shrimp tempura roll with avocado), an exotic selection of sashimi (tuna, yellowtail, sea bass, scallop and salmon roe), and various sushi combinations.
