Extravagant La Maison du Chocolat Collections Revealed for 2013

Luxury chocolatier La Maison du Chocolat unveiled yesterday their exquisite creations for both Valentines Day and Easter 2013. Proudly displayed at their London flagship store located in Mayfair, the Valentines collection reflected the romance and indulgence of the holiday whilst the Easter treats had the playful whimsy of meadows, eggs, and lambs.

The Valentines selection featured five seductive duos, one for each Valentine to tempt the other with. The tantalising flavours ranged from pepper and vanilla, to lemon and galanga, to their litchi ganache (ganache being their speciality). They are beautifully presented in an almost jewellery- like box, in the essential romantic red.

The Easter concoctions are charming enough to bring a smile to anyone, chocolate lover or not. Created by Master Chocolatier Nicolas Cloiseau, they are a happy family of lambs, all with a cheerful smile and floppy ears, and, once broken open, tummies full of Easter eggs. However, these are not the Easter eggs of our childhood; the indulgent praline centres range from crepe dentelle to almond milk. The largest available is 6 kg, guaranteed to be a talking point on any Easter table.

La Maison du Chocolat is a pleasure to visit no matter what the time of year. (The Tastemaker was lucky enough to sample a few treats and can vouch they are divine.) Here’s to many indulged sweet tooths in 2013.

The Valentine’s duos are available from early 2013 and the Easter collection is available from March 2013.
