Liv restaurant, in the heart of Belgravia, is a welcome addition to the Pimlico dining scene. With a light and joyful interior décor and an equally stimulating menu to match, Liv is set to become a go-to dining destination for the cognoscenti.

We visited Liv in its second week of existence on a Monday afternoon, witnessing a substantial turnout already. The staff are professional and friendly and welcome you into the restaurant as if it were a members’ club you are returning to.

We loved the yellow and white theme throughout, as well as the large overstated art works dotted everywhere. There is a lightness in the ambiance that is hard to define: perhaps due to the uplifting décor or the jovial attitude of locals.

The menu is an interesting smorgasbord of choices and cuisines. From dishes such as King Prawn Omelette, to the more exotic Hainanese Chicken Salad, diners are presented with a large variety of dishes, all of which have the hallmark of being ultra healthy.

We started with the Liv Purple juice (apple, carrot, celery, beetroot, cucumber, ginger), a delectable classic, supplemented with a slight sweetness courtesy of the apple and the Green is Good Smoothie (almond milk, avocado, spinach, banana, honey, almond butter), a smooth and slightly sweet smoothie that was oh so more-ish.

Our mains were the Tuna poke bowl (miso, edamame, radish, avocado, tuna) and Mushrooms on Toast. For the tuna poke bowl, sumptuous tuna chunks lay on a thin bed of rice, with edamame beans, radish and avocado completing the set. Mushrooms on Toast (parsley, lemon, stracciatella, soft poached eggs, truffled pecorino) consisted of a delightfully light sauteed mushrooms with soft poached eggs on a toast bed, with the truffled pecorino adding a slight intensity of flavour to a well-balanced dish.
